This kit consists of a 12.6v lithium battery pack enclosed in a case which is compatible with most TowMate light duty wireless tow lights and light bars which normally use a 12v 1.2ah (or 1.3ah) lead acid battery.  The kit also includes a 12.6v lithium charger.

This will fit TM2M, TM2S, TM21, TM22, TM2, TM22Y, BCA21, TM21S, CA32, SP21, Lime Light and other TowMate light duty tow lights.

You simply remove the old lead acid battery from your TowMate tow light and install the TowBrite 12.6v lithium battery in its place.  Installation takes approximately 15 minutes.

This new battery pack will power your TowMate wireless tow light for at least 24hrs before it needs recharging.

Note that this is an unofficial kit manufactured by TowBrite.  It is not supported or sanctioned by TowMate in any fashion.

Tools Needed:

  1. Philips #2 screw driver
  2. Long reach pliers, vice grips or long 7/16" wrench

Installation Instructions:

  1. Your existing lead acid battery is located on the right hand side of your tow light. (opposite side as the switch) Everything to be done here is on this right hand side.
  2. Remove screws for LED lights, this includes the end caps, turn single (if present) and right hand screw for the large brake/turn signal.
  3. Disconnect and remove the endcaps and turn signal light, if applicable.
  4. Remove the magnet by holding the internal nut and rotating the magnet counter clockwise.  On some models, the magnet is held on my a Philips head bolt, so grip the nut inside and unscrew the bolt.
  5. Disconnect and pull out the lead acid battery. Be careful not to snag any wires.  This may be challenging.
  6. Remove the deeply located nut and bolt which retained the back of the lead acid battery.
  7. Slide in the TowBrite lithium battery pack.
  8. There is a captive nut on the lithium battery,  line it up with the hole from step 6 and secure the back of the battery with the bolt from step 5.  Screw in the bolt gently and make it snug.  Do not use a power tool or apply a lot of torque.  The nut is a nyloc nut and will not come undone.
  9. Reinstall the magnet, it holds the front of the lithium battery.  Reuse the same nut.
  10. Reconnect all your wires.  Red will connect to Red, and White or Black will connect to White.
  11. Reinstall the LED lights and endcap.
  12. Reinstall the screws holding your LED lights.
  13. Use only the TowBrite charger included in this kit, all other non-lithium chargers may damage the lithium battery, decrease its life or cause damage.

Love it!

This battery is a major upgrade to the standard Towmate battery. It was easy to change out and lasts longer. I recommend!
