How to store your wireless tow bar between tows | TowBrite

Tow operators work long and difficult hours, often working 7 days a week and more than twelve hours a day.  But there is always a little down time between tows... so what should you do with your tow light when it's not on a vehicle?

The answer for this depends on the type of tow light that you have.  Most guys driving a smaller tow truck and towing cars will bring their smaller (often 22" wireless tow light) into the cab of their truck.  This is convenient since it allows them to charge the tow light and it keeps it out of the weather and safe from theft.

Heavy duty tow lights are often 36" or 48" long and therefore would not fit well in a truck cab, even a high way tractor's cab has limited space.  In most of these cases, the operator will set up a charging and storage solution inside their tool boxes.  The best setup is having a couple of hooks inside a tunnel tool box where you can hook the loops of your tow light.  Setting up the charging plug there as well is a convenient.

No matter where you decide to store your wireless tow bar light, it should be in a protected environment - keep it out of the sun or rain and make sure that the cabinet is locked so that nobody can steal your tow light!
